Mission and Vision

Friends of CerviCusco

The vision of the Friends of CerviCusco, a non-profit organization, is to reduce cervical cancer morbidity and mortality, provide high quality health care and improve the quality of life for the women of Peru.

The mission of the Friends of CerviCusco is to provide opportunities for health care providers and volunteers to support CerviCusco in their efforts to prevent, screen, diagnose and treat cervical cancer in Peruvian women.  The Friends of CC will facilitate education, volunteer opportunities and cultural immersion for medical students, premedical students, residents, health care providers, health science students and volunteers.

The SETH Foundation

The SETH (Selfless Engagement Through Humanitarianism) scholarship program, in remembrance of Seth Thomas, operates under the auspices of the Friends of CerviCusco.   Seth Thomas wanted to become a physician so that he could better serve others in disadvantaged populations.  The Friends of CerviCusco wants other medical students to “walk in Seth’s shoes”. The vision of the SETH program is to give deserving medical students an opportunity to serve.  The mission of the SETH program is to enable a remarkable humanitarian experience for medical students by providing financial assistance.
